Privacy policy

Last updated: June 2026

1. Overview

Cyber Revision is a free, independent cybersecurity revision resource run personally by Jack at cyber.jackghx.com. It is built to respect your privacy: there is no advertising, no tracking cookies, and no selling or sharing of personal data. You can use most of the site without an account, and the course offers an optional account so you can save your progress. This policy explains the data the site handles and why.

2. Analytics

The site uses Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless and privacy friendly, to understand which pages are visited and how the site is performing. This data is anonymous and aggregated. It does not identify you, does not follow you across other websites, and is not used for advertising. No analytics cookies are set.

3. Cookies

This site does not set any cookies. Nothing is stored to track you between visits or across other sites.

4. Your progress and accounts

Small preferences such as your light or dark theme choice, along with your progress on the notes, flashcards, quizzes and challenges, are saved in your browser's local storage. This stays on your own device, is not sent to any server, and is not personal data. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

The course offers an optional account so your progress and certificates are saved and follow you across devices. If you create one, your email address and your course progress are stored on the server, used only to log you in and keep that progress. This data is not sold or shared, and you can delete your account and its data at any time by getting in touch.

5. Information you send directly

If you email the contact address, your message and email address are used only to read and reply to you. They are not added to any mailing list and are not shared with anyone else.

6. Third-party links

The site may link to external resources such as OWASP, NIST or MITRE. Once you follow a link to another site, this policy no longer applies. Please check the privacy policy of any site you visit.

7. Children's privacy

This site is aimed at students, including those under 18. Most of the site can be used without an account or any personal information. Creating a course account requires an email address, but an account is never needed to read the notes or use the flashcards, quizzes and challenges.

8. Your rights

If you have a course account, you can ask to access, correct, or delete the data held about you, and you can delete your account at any time. If you do not have an account, no personal data is stored about you. If you have emailed the contact address and want your message removed, just ask and it will be deleted.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The date at the top reflects the last change. Continued use of the site means you accept the current version.
